CUSTOM SWIMMING POOLS
Gunite is the familiar term for a concrete pool. Building your pool with Gunite allows for maximum customization. These pools start as rebar skeleton coated in “shotcrete” and custom-sculpted. The interior is finished with tile work and plaster once the curing is complete. The options for the interior finish include plaster, pebbletec, and exposed aggregate with each finish available in a wide palette of colors. Gunite creates a more durable pool with plaster maintenance typically only required every 12-15 years.
Potential features of a gunite pool include shallow beach entry, disappearing negative edges, overflow spas, waterfall walls, custom complex shape and depth, fountains, sun ledges, benches, custom tile decor, bright aggregate finishes – it’s all up to you!
An entry-level gunite pool starts at approximately $80,000 with the price increasing as custom features are added.
Vinyl pools are common in the Midwest because of their affordability. These pools start at approximately $40,000. Vinyl pools are named after the vinyl liner that holds the water. Steel panels are bolted into straight or curved walls, corners, indents, interior steps, benches, and sun-decks. The pool floor is sculpted with a thin layer of concrete over gravel. The liner finishes the interior of the pool and is printed with the pattern of your choosing.
Vinyl liner pools may be constructed in 4-6 weeks (mother nature permitting!) and offer choices for depth, shape, width. Note that liners grow brittle over time and will need to be replaced throughout the life of the pool. With proper water chemistry maintenance, a liner will last 5-10 years. When the time comes to replace the liner, Oasis offers vinyl liner replacements. Depending on the size and complexity of the liner, a replacement costs approximately $3,000.
